Rockville European Auto Repair

I had a previous review from some years ago here about a negative experience I'd had with Excluservice. Unfortunately I neglected to update that after the owner contacted me and made good on the situation. Based on that, when I recently needed additional service on my X5, I gave Stephan and the team another shot. While I wasn't happy with the news they delivered about by vehicle, the team did go the extra mile to try and come up with the most cost effective solution to keep my BMW running as best I can, without breaking the bank. Thanks again!

Dear Thom,I am heartbroken on how you portray us and I don't think your review of our business is…Dear Thom,I am heartbroken on how you portray us and I don't think your review of our business is fair. We replaced a heater valve because you had no heat, and we replace your ignition coils because you had engine misfires. You picked up your vehicle on Friday night. When you returned on Monday you told us you had a coolant leak, we pressure tested the system and found your coolant expansion tank was leaking. Given the circumstances as a goodwill gesture we replaced your coolant expansion tank at no cost to you as well as provided you with a loaner car so you can go about your day. Which is why I am very surprised at your sentiment that you can "hear the cash registers ringing" when you walk in the door as our #1 concern is your satisfaction. I hope you would consider using our company again in the future.Kind regards,Stephane Grabina

Service was outstanding. Tech went above and beyond, worked with service manager to find a used wheel I could use as a spare (I am switching from run-flats to not-RFT tires). In and out in ninety minutes with my new Contis on my 335d. Very pleased. Update: August 2015: Apparently there is a gizmo under the 335d front end that controls the headlights, or or so Tim informed me after I ran over half a tuck tire Sunday night on the 495/Beltway, thus explaining why both headlights were resolutely pointing down toward the road ten feet in front of the car. The good news is, one hours of labor later I was on my way. Can't say enough nice things about the Excluservice guys, in addition to opening the garage on weekends for the BMW CCA chapter. Tim and Isaac really hooked me up. Again.

Thank you so much for your kind words, we are very happy that you are satisfied with your experience.

I have been taking my car to Excluservice since my car went out of warranty with the dealership. My 2007 BMW 335i has been in the shop for everything from suspension work, body work, and basic maintenance. The shop is very clean, the techs are just as good if not better than dealership techs, and the management is very friendly and supportive. If something isn't done right, they'll make sure it's done right, as if your car is their car too. I have recommended this shop to many of my friends and all have had nothing but good things to say. They have been working with BMWs since 1984 and know how to work on not only the vintage BMWs but as well as the moderns ones. They recently started working on Minis as well.

Try and imagine being in your neighborhood and living next to one your closest friends whom you've been friends with for a long time. One day, you find out that he is a mechanic who always seems to be doing some kind of work in his garage. You just so happen to need some work done to your own vehicle. You ask him for a favor to work on your vehicle and you pay him generously but at the same time you don't your bank in doing so, and your vehicle is returned to you better than ever with the work being completely trusted. Well this is the type of experience that I received and I'm sure that everyone has received by being a customer at BMW Excluservice in Rockville, Maryland. My E46 BMW M3 was down and out for 1.5 years and it has been from shop to shop and nobody has been able to pinpoint what was wrong with my car until I brought it to Excluservice. Within a day it was up and running and by the end of the week they had it fully ready to go with everything I wanted completed to it. Of course they advised me on additional things that needed to be done listed in priority from most important to least, but there was no pressure in doing anything else that I wanted to do. The prices on parts and labor were more than considerate, the profesional customer service was stellar, they weren't shady or hiding from the distance between me and them, (I'm in California by the way), and they definitely guarantee their work. Stephane and Isaac were definitely showing me their "A" game when they were working with me, and it's not like I'm a big breasted lady either, they were genuinely concerned in taking care of me as a customer and my car. The warranty on the work, and the customer service alone are the only reasons that I need to know that the next time I need help with my car, it will definitely be at BMW Excluservice. I hope this helps anyone consdering this shop. My advice to you is not to wait to fix your car because you don't have the money, excluservice has a payment options that they can discuss with you, and also not to waste your time on any other rinky dink shop that says can fix your car because more than likely they won't be able to, or at least they won't be able to at the level Excluservice will. Believe me, you will not be disappointed. Also last but not least, as an active duty military member, I salute the fine group of people who work here, you all definitely lifted a burden off of my shoulders and I have that to thank you.

I bought my 2010 650i about a year ago. I LOVE the car, the look and the feel. One day I took my car through a car wash and immediately after my electronics went CRAZY. Radio, Nav, blu tooth, satellite didn't work at all. After a day it all came back. I figured it had something to do with some kind of water leaking into the car so I took it to the dealership as it was still under warranty. They couldn't find anything wrong. Later in the year it rained and the same thing happened. Another trip to the dealership and they found nothing wrong. The spring came around and while I was visiting the dealership to ask a question it began to rain. Sure enough, the issue happened again. Guess what, the dealership couldn't find anything wrong. Each time though after a few days of drying out, the car operated normally. Two weeks ago, I got caught up in a rain storm and 10 minutes into it, my radio, Nav, etc went out again. THIS time I took it to Excluservice BMW because my wife has bought two cars from them and always has them service her cars. They were busy as heck. Isaac needlessly apologized, explaining that his co worker was on vacation. Isaac fielded call after call though still managed to listen to my long story and get my information documented. He assured me that the car will be taken care of. He also asked if I needed shuttle service though I didn't require that this time.Later in the day, he called me to say that the technician assigned to my car had to go to the doctor and would I mind if the car stayed overnight and apologized for the inconvenience. The next day he sent me an email with the details of what was found. Before I read the email, my phone rang and it was Isaac phoning me to explain the issues and what my options were and explained what needed to be fixed immediately and what can wait.I finally got back to Isaac later in the afternoon and he sent me a confirmation email to ensure we were on the same page.I ended up having plenty of needed maintenance performed and after the work was complete, they discovered another issue which would not have been known otherwise.Isaac again needlessly apologized but informed me that Excluservice BMW would absorb the cost of that repair and by the way, they fixed my leak issue!!!! YAY!!I'm expecting to pick my car up today near closing, but again Isaac phoned me and set my expectations to say that they will try, but if not tonight, the car will be ready first thing in the morning.Of course I don't have my car back yet, but I wanted to write this review to extol the customer service I had from Isaac. He's busy as heck, but the dude is a heck of a customer service representative.Oh yeah....I'll be back!My wife has been taking her car to Lothar for years and now Stephane is picking up where he left off.

I've been to Excluservice several times now. They're thorough and communicate clearly what the car needs. I recommend them to friends.

I've had a few BMW's over the years and recently purchased a 2003 BMW M3 6MT. After a recommendation from a friend who also owns an E46 M3 I took my car to Excluservice to inspect the car for any problems as well as change the oil, coolant, brake fluid, etc. Before I even brought in my car, Stephane, the owner, spent a considerable amount of time with me on the phone on at least 2 occasions discussing what things we should and shouldn't do and what was not really necessary so I could save some money. Once the car was in there Stephane, as well as David, made sure to follow up with me promptly when they said they would and provided excellent customer service. The customer service and work done at Excluservice was top notch and very professional. Stephane made sure to take the time to go over everything with me about the car and never tried to shove unnecessary services or products down my throat. When the time comes I will definitely use them again.
